A HydraFacial MD® treatment is suitable for all skin types and will visibly improve the appearance, tone and texture of your skin after just one treatment, although some people benefit from a course of HydraFacials if there are specific issues that we need to address.

What is a HydraFacial MD® treatment?

HydraFacial MD® is a multi-step facial treatment based around six core protocols:

As well as addressing universal skincare needs, we can adapt each core protocol to give you a truly bespoke treatment.

The HydraFacial uses innovative technology, known as the Vortex-Fusion® serum delivery system, to deliver each step of the treatment and help the HydraFacial products penetrate your skin for longer-lasting results.

The main focus of the treatment is to cleanse and exfoliate your skin, leaving it as receptive as possible to the benefits of the HydraFacial serums.

What happens during a HydraFacial MD® treatment?

During your HydraFacial MD® treatment, we will use a handheld device to deliver the various stages of your facial. Each treatment shares four common steps, although the products we use will vary according to your needs, and is then followed by one or two protocol-specific steps, depending on the main focus of your appointment. As an overview, the steps are:

Step one (Vortex-ExfoliationTM) – we cleanse and exfoliate your face to remove dead skin cells and sebum from your skin surface to reveal the new, healthy cells underneath.
Step two (Vortex-PeelTM) – we apply a gentle serum including salicylic and glycolic acids to unblock your pores without causing your skin to scale or peel.
Step three (Vortex-ExtractionTM) – we extract impurities from your skin using a gentle suction mechanism and the help of the patented Beta-HDTM serum.
Step four (Vortex-FusionTM) – we replenish your skin using a special HydraFacial MD® serum rich in antioxidants, peptides and hyaluronic acid.
The subsequent stages of the treatment will depend on your individual skincare issues and needs.

The treatment is gentle and non-invasive; simply lay back, close your eyes and relax while we pamper your skin.

How soon should I be able to see the results of my HydraFacial treatment?

Your skin tone should look visibly improved after just one treatment.

How long should the results last?

The results of your HydraFacial will be noticeable for approximately five to seven days post-treatment. Like all facials, the results are temporary and cumulative, so if you have a treatment once a month, this should help with continuing to improve the health and appearance of your skin. Many people choose to make a HydraFacial part of their regular beauty regime.

Will I need to take time off after my treatment?

Most people can put make-up on immediately afterwards and get back to their day. However, if you do experience any redness or bruising, you may want to take it easy until these side effects resolve.

Do I need to avoid any activities after the treatment or follow a specific aftercare regime?

After any treatment at Therapy House, we’ll give you detailed aftercare instructions that relate to your procedure.

After a HydraFacial MD® treatment, we would usually recommend that you avoid sun exposure for 48 and wear a high factor sunscreen (SPF 30+) if you are likely to be in the sun. You should also avoid steam rooms, saunas and high impact exercise for 24 hours.

Try not to wash your face directly after the treatment, so that the products have a chance to take effect.
