What are Skin Peels?
Skin Peels are used to treat and rejuvenate the skin and improve the appearance of fine lines, elasticity and tone of the skin, pigmentation and acne.
A Skin Peel is basically an exfoliation stimulated by a chemical solution. It is a safe and common procedure which should only be performed by a fully trained professional.
It is also incredibly discreet, so those around you will find you radiant without knowing why!
What products do you use?
At Therapy House we only use
Dermaceutic professional products. Dermaceutic has been working with dermatologists and clinical professionals for several decades and has extensive experience in this area.
At Therapy House we offer two different kinds of Skin Peel:
Dermaceutic Glycolic Peel
Glycolic peels provide a controlled and predictable removal of surface skin cells, stimulating skin renewal to improve appearance of the skin. They can help reduce fine lines and improve the elasticity and tone of the skin as well as reduce abnormal pigmentation.

Dermaceutic Trichloroaetic Acid Peels
Trichloroaetic skin peels are a treatment for skin aging, over pigmentation and active acne. The treatment is administered by applying thin coats of a solution to the skin. Some mild peeling may occur after a couple of days and the skin will show some improvements within 3 to 4 weeks.
What does the treatment involve?
All of the above skin peels are performed by our Clinical Director who applies thin coats of the solution to the skin. A post-peel mask (crème) is then applied. Some mild peeling may occur after a couple of days. The new regenerated skin underneath is usually smoother, less wrinkled and more even in both tone and colour than the old skin.
Clients will be asked to follow a pre-treatment skin regime for up to 2 weeks before treatment to prepare their skin and continue applying special creams to your skin for up to 2 weeks after to ensure optimal results.
What kind of skin care regime do I need to follow?
Dermaceutic offer a wide range of skin care products to protect, stimulate and repair your skin before and after a peel. You can find out more about the wide range of creams available by clicking

How long does the procedure take?
A session generally lasts 15-30 minutes and is made up of several steps: the cleansing of the area to be treated, the application of the peel and finally, only in certain cases, neutralisation. For most peels, you need to do at least 4 sessions a few weeks apart.
How long do the effects last?
This really does depend on your skin type and the level of skin peel you have. Your practitioner will be able to discuss this with you in more detail during your consultation.
Are there any side effects?
Anaesthesia is not required for Skin Peels but you may feel slight stinging sensation as the peel solution is applied to the skin, but the feeling will quickly pass.
A few hours after the session, a slight redness to a sunburn effect will appear, depending on the type of treatment you have received.
All products have a potential for allergic reactions. It is important that the patient informs the practitioner of any allergies they may have.
Your practitioner will discuss the procedure and possible side effects in detail during your free consultation.
Is there anything else I need to know?
Depending on which chemical peel is recommended for you treatment may vary from a one-off peel to a course of 4 peels with one each week. Sometimes two or more courses of TCA peels may be needed to obtain the desired result and may be spaced out over several months.
Your happiness and satisfaction is of paramount importance to us. After treatment you will be given a 24 hour contact telephone number so you can get in touch with your practitioner at any time should you have any worries or concerns.
